Founded in 1875 by James Brown, one of the many youth British entrepreneurs who came to the shores of Sri Lanka in search of fortune, opportunity and adventure. A pioneer in precision engineering and agriculture mechanization, Browns, today, is a dominant force in the fast-changing corporate world of the island. Building on these decades of trust and expertise, Browns Engineering & Construction was established in 2018 as a subsidiary of the Browns Group, which is backed by the largest diversified conglomerate in Sri Lanka, LOLC Holdings.
Through the inception of Browns Engineering & Construction, we have significantly contributed to the infrastructure—civil construction, telecommunication and electrical—landscape in Sri Lanka and beyond through numerous construction projects. With our engineering know-how and innovative mindset, we have set ourselves apart from the competition. We always strive to maintain the highest professional standards to provide sophisticated engineering solutions to our clients.
